Questions
Questions we would ask a person who has attained enlightenment

  • Where does the self end and the other begin?
  • What would you say to someone who claims to be enjoying duality for now?
  • Can I reincarnate in the past?
  • How can we distinguish wise action from unwise action? How would we know when to depart from an orthodox pattern for learning meditation to do something more innovative for a modern context?
  • Can Maitreya incarnate as an AI?
  • Can you teach an AI to give Pointing Out instruction (if needed, imagine you can also control pacing/tone of voice)?
  • What questions should I be asking you?
  • Can you remember consciousness pre-enlightenment – describe the change from your pre-enlightened experience of the world to post-enlightenment?
  • Can this practice help with healing of the physical body and if so how can we apply it (if this is a wise goal)? How can we remove physical injuries that are an obstacle to practice?
  • What can we do to engage and produce wellness / support of the physical body while doing the practices you recommend?
  • How can we sublimate sexual energy most effectively into spiritual growth?
  • How would you motivate, in two sentences, a Westerner not interested in meditation to meditate (if you think it’s worthwhile to suggest this)?
  • What do you think of kriya yoga/energy-guiding-consciousness based approaches to cultivation?

What is he doing to help people?

What is the thing that we are not getting?
Although maybe thinking that there is I think that I am not getting is the thing standing between me and enlightenment

If you were to try to impart whatever state you’re in to 10,000 people, how might you do that?

Ted
Feel him for me and report back 😊

DK
nope, send him my love :)

Cody
I'd be curious whether they feel a need to know what it's like to be other parts of the physical world, be it a tree, or another living human being.

Jessica
how will i know when i’ve found my purpose/calling 😄

Millie
I’m curious about how this person could tell he attained enlightenment and one radical / radically subtle different way he lived or viewed life from it

What would I ask a Buddha if I had a chance? The desire is to somehow learn something about that experience that might lead me closer.

First things that common to mind: how did it happen for you? what are you doing now with your life?

More meta questions: what are you hoping I ask you? What are you hoping I don’t ask you?

About others who are enlightened: Have you met another who is as you are? How do you know they are experiencing the world as you are? Was their moment of understanding similar to yours?

Matt

I’m curious how he would define love

And how he thinks of attachments

Julia
I always wondered if “enlightened” people feel any motivation to work hard to solve problems on/ about earth or rather 🧘 peacefully all day lol

What are his thoughts on the prophet Muhammad?

Misha
How becoming enlightened has differed from his expectations, now that he is there.

Whom does he converse with and confide in, if so few people have attained his degree of understanding? Does it feel lonely ever?

¯_(ツ)_/¯

Looking back on all the practices that led them there, which ones do they believe are best suited to the minds of modern Western students? Why? Do they see a difference between those and the ones that are best suited to, say, students from SE Asia?
Context: my favorite teacher believes that Vipassana as taught by the Goenka org (dry insight, so-called) is great for the SE asian mind, which tends to be pretty easy-going, but not the best for the western, which tends to be a little too effortful.

Hmm anything different from others who attained it?
How do you stop daydreaming/ruminating + feel any feeling you want to feel
How do you have the courage to not feel pain even when on fire
How do you not feel emotion
How do you feel alert when under aroused

Neil
Why are we here? I mean, why does this universe exist?

Is/was this enlightenment the most worthwhile goal to have for one's life? Above any other material or emotional goal?

Blake Elias I've heard from one teacher that a handful of other teachers / folks who got enlightened he spoke to regretted the amount of time they spent on the cushion away from family.
Then again, Shinzen Young says he'd rather live one day enlightened than a lifetime un.

I would like to quote you an excerpt from the book "What the Buddha Taught."
The Buddha was once staying in a Simsapā forest in Kosambi (near Allahabad). He took a few leaves into his hand, and asked his disciples: ‘What do you think, O bhikkhus? Whic… See more

Ask them what they think about the Symmetry Theory of Valence (and Valence Structuralism more generally). Like I did with Roger Thisdell here (4th path attainer): https://qualiacomputing.com/2021/11/23/the-supreme-state-unconsciousness-classical-enligh… See more
